Candan RV Rentals Rental Terms
Upon confirmation of your booking a non-refundable deposit will be processed on your nominated credit card. The balance will then be taken 35 days prior to the departure date. In addition to this, the following terms and conditions apply:
Business hours
Monday - Saturday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. CLOSED SUNDAYS.
CLOSED ON STATUTORY HOLIDAYS ( 2008: Friday March 21, Monday March 21, Monday May 191, Tuesday July 01, Monday August 04, Monday September 01, Monday October 13, Tuesday November 11.) Closed between Christmas & New Year.
Pick Up And Return
Pick-up is between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM (No pick-ups after 4 PM).
Return is between 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM. The daily rental rate plus a penalty of
$50.00 per hour will be charged for late returns.
Transfers
FREE transfers are provided to and from airport and airport area hotels. Please book customers at an airport area hotel for the first night. If customers are staying downtown in Vancouver, the client can telephone us for a special taxi fare of $75.00 direct from downtown or they can make their way to the airport and we can pick them up there. Please tell all customers to call ASAP after arrival so that we can schedule a pick-up time. Please also note that if the Renter has not arrived in Vancouver (airport) and is ready for transfer (i.e. suitcases collected and gone through customs) by 2 pm , no transfer will be made until the next business day. NO transfer on drop-off date will be made if the vehicle is not returned on time. For drop-offs on any day prior to scheduled drop-off day, prior arrangements must be made for transfer and no transfers will then be made after 2 pm.
Driver's Age
All Renters and additional drivers must be over the age of 21 and present a valid driver license. Age restriction may be lowered at the discretion of CANDAN RV RENTALS.
Cancellation Policy
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
48 days or prior: No further charge
33 - 48 days: 40 % of pre-tax invoice
18 - 32 days: 60 % of pre-tax invoice
17 - 4 day before departure: 80 % of pre-tax invoice
Day of departure & "no-show": 100 % of invoice
Cancellation charges are subject to tax(es)
Group booking ( 4 or more ): In addition to the above fees: if rental is canceled 14 days or more AFTER booking confirmation is given by Candan RV Rentals (regardless of how many days vehicles canceled BEFORE departure), there is a minimum charge of $500 per booking for group bookings of 5 or more. Please note that dependent on the size of the group, transfers may not be included. We will advise you at the time of booking. To eliminate errors, all cancellations MUST be confirmed by our office. If you have not received a cancellation confirmation from us within 48 hours, please resend. If our office has not confirmed a cancellation in writing, it will be considered a “no show” on the pickup date with full cancellation charges applicable.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of Travel Insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
Vehicle age
Purchased new in 2008, 2007 and 2006. Most of our vehicles are in this class.
Minimum rental time
April 15 - November 01: Minimum 1 week rental. Rest of year: Minimum 2 weeks rental (less by special request only).
Cleaning:
Since we take pride in the clean condition in which our vehicles leave, a fee of up to $250 will be charged if the vehicle is not returned with a clean interior. Charge for exterior wash will only be m ade if unit is excessively dirty. A fee of $40 per tank will be charged if holding tanks are not empty upon return.
Substitution
CANDAN RV RENTALS makes every effort to provide customers with the model requested. We do reserve the right, however, to substitute models of similar or larger size. Should a lower rate vehicle be offered, CANDAN RV RENTAL’S responsibility is strictly limited to a refund of the price difference between the vehicle paid and vehicle taken.
Security deposit
Security/Insurance deposit in the amount of $500 ($3000 without VIP) is required before departure. Deposits of $500 will be held unprocessed with a signed blank imprint, however, deposits of $3000 will be processed and refunded upon check-in if vehicle is returned on time, undamaged, clean, equipment complete, holding tanks empty and fuel tank(s) full. Please advise the clients that we are not responsible for any currency loss due to the exchange rate at time of charge and credit.
Insurance
Included in the rental rates is an insurance (CDR: Collision Deductible Reduction) with $3 million third party liability. In the event of loss or damage to the vehicle, whether or not due to the fault of the Renter, the Renter's responsibility (provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the rental agreement) is limited to a maximum of $5,000 per occurrence except as outlined under "limited coverage." There is no limit, however, if vehicle incurs loss or damage as outlined below under "losses not covered." VIP reduces the deductible in case of an accident. Please see chart below. In addition to the reduction in the damage deductible, VIP also covers incurred expenses of up to the daily retail rental rate for the period and size booked in the event of a mechanical breakdown of the vehicle which requires more than 12 hours to repair. Mechanical breakdown does not include malfunction of the radio, cassette, CD, TV, VCR, DVD, air conditioner(s), generator, refrigerator, cruise control or breakdown due to accident, whether or not the Renter is at fault. A limit of $1,500 per booking applies. Customers must present all receipts for refund of expenses. CANDAN RV RENTALS is not responsible for any additional refund over and above the daily rental rate i.e. hotel charges, car rental or any other incidental or consequential cost in the event of a breakdown.
All insurance coverage is VOID if all loss and damage ( REGARDLESS OF HOW IT HAPPENED) is not reported immediately to police and to CANDAN RV RENTALS. All claims must be submitted with a complete written driver’s report.

Texas
GST: Goods and Services Tax is currently 6% and must be added to all charges in Langley and Vancouver.
PST: Provincial Sales Tax is currently 7% and must be added to all charges when rental originates in Langley and Vancouver.

Preparation fee
$95.00. Includes first tank of propane, toilet chemicals, biodegradable toilet paper and transfer to and from airport area hotels. (For our winter rentals, the prep-fee is increased to $150 and includes snow chains.) Please see below under winterized units.

Sleeping bag or comforter, sheet, pillow & pillow case, bath towels (2), dinner plate, dessert plate, salad/cereal bowl, mug, glass, set of cutlery, coat hangers.
NO CHARGE STANDARD EQUIPMENT:
Jack & tire iron, spare tire & cover, water hose, sewer hose, adaptor, fridge level, tools, spare fuses, operations manual, leveling blocks, matches, scissors and camp axe.
Extra equipment rental
Reservations accepted and recommended for: Camping Chairs, Child seats, Children’s Playpen and Bike Racks. Charges per rental period: Camping Chairs $10.00, Electric Toaster $8.00, Childseat $35.00, Collapsible Baby Play Pen $50.00. Bike Racks $65.00 (not available on W idebody Van, Camper & Truck and 22/23' Motorhome). Other rental equipment may be made available upon request. We also have a fully stocked Recreation Vehicle and Camping Equipment store. Items for sale include barbecue grills, fishing gear, clothes lines, gloves, table cloths, stuffed animals, souvenirs, camping guides and books etc.
Gravel/Northern Surcharge & Restricted areas
$300.00 Surcharge. Only Deluxe Vans, and Motorhomes (except 31/32') are allowed on gravel roads. Surcharge is for ALL gravel road driving as well as some northern roads, including Alaska Hwy (north of Fort St. John), Cassiar Hwy
(north of Stewart), Dempster Hwy. Any travel on gravel roads MUST BE PRE-BOOKED. Please advise your customers that the vehicles are not airtight and that they should expect a certain amount of dust when traveling on gravel
roads. No vehicles are allowed into Death Valley between May 01 and October 01. Travel into Mexico is not allowed under any circumstances.
Generator charges
All 24/25, 28/29 and 31/32 Motorhome and some Mercedes Vans are equipped with Generators. (This cannot be pre-booked the Mercedes Vans). Only guaranteed on the Motorhomes. Cost per hour or portion thereof, if used: $4.00.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:

To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
